A Christmas Poem about the Innkeeper (by John Piper)

This is a bonus post for this week that highlights truth in prose.  John Piper performs a dramatic reading of his original poem/short story about the Innkeeper that offered his stable to Mary and Joseph.  It is a fascinating take on what might have happened after that fateful night and what it would have been like for the Innkeeper to speak with Jesus as an adult, years after He was born.

The value here is seeing how life presents suffering and often times without apparent reason or purpose.  But Christmas helps all of us with this problem, especially those who have experienced great loss or tragedy.  Enjoy!  Come back next week for new Christmas song posts starting on Monday.
